THE FINALE! THE FINAL GAME OF THE SEASON!

What a season it has been for Millwall, written off before the season even started and now have a chance to finish 3rd in a league they would have been expected to finish much closer to the bottom.

There have been individual moments of excellent but also some terrific team moments that wont go from the Millwall players mind. The Lionesses have certainly roared like Lionesses this season and no team have showed more passion and more desire in a team than they have.

Off the field incidents have meant that they have suffered in form recently and lost their grip on the title run in but a successful season all round.

With one more game to go and it being a trip down the south coast to play 2nd placed Brighton. Brighton have already been accepted in the top tier as of next season so there is bound to be celebrations at the end for the home side especially if they can pick up 3 points.

Millwall go into this game with passion and pride to play for, an enjoyable season is an understatement and the fairy tale can hopefully continue today as Millwall look to win their final game of the season.

Not many teams will ever go through as much as the Lionesses have in one season and that is credit to there mental and psychological strength to battle through the bad and still pick up points as well as playing some good football.

Ella Rutherford still remains sidelined since her operation and is unlikely to return to the side as they face Brighton. Other than that Lee Burch should have the rest of his squad to pick from as they look to sign the season off in style.

Rianna Dean and Ashlee Hincks have formed a good partnership this season and as shown on twitter they both think they've got a bit of banter amongst them. Coach Ash and student Rianna are a more powerful duo than the local pub and a kebab.

SO.. One more final game, one last final push, Thank you Millwall for what has been a superb season. 3 points in Brighton and a fish and chips to get home how else would you want to spend your Sundays.

LAST TIME WE MET

8/10/17 Millwall 4 Brighton 3

A game that had a bit of everything. Billie Brooks was unable to continue after 15 after suffering a knock to the head before 5 minutes later the visitors took the lead and held an important lead going into half time. The second half however was much more eventful and minutes into the second half Leanne Cowan steered home from a corner as the Lionesses thought back. Bonnie Horwood then gave the Lionesses the lead after a well worked team goal but the visitors responded to make it 2 a piece. Millwall re took the lead through Ella Rutherford before it turned 4 as Ashlee Hincks smartly finished past the keeper. 3 points were secured but it was a nervous ending as a penalty for Brighton was tucked away in style.

LAST TIME OUT

13/5/18 Millwall 0 Doncaster Belles 1

Millwall's final home game of the season ended in defeat but a spirited performance from the home side showed just how far the Lionesses have come. Chances came at a premium for the Lionesses in the first half and second but failed to convert and test the Doncaster keeper. Millwall were made to pay and received a massive sucker punch half way through the second half when a long range drive deflected and made its way into the bottom corner to give the visitors all 3 points.

13/5/18 Durham 4 Brighton 0

Almost a 5 star performance from the northern side as they pushed past second place Brighton. A tight game on paper but Durham didn't quite clearly read the script as within 25 minutes found themselves 2-0 up and held that all the way to half time as Durham aimed to win their final home game of the season. 5 minutes into the second half it was 3-0 before Durham made it 4 with just over 10 to go. A poor performance from the south coast side who won't want that happening today.

SUMMARY

Let's go 'Wall one final game lets sign this season off with 3 points down the coast. An amazing season that deserves a good ending.
