The transfer window can be a great time for a club or a horrid time for a club... With players coming in and players going out, fans are left unsure of how their team will fair in the final few months of the season.
Millwall sit 15th in the Championship 6 points clear of the drop and 13 points off the play offs, meaning a string of results could send them up near the play offs but also a bad run could see them in the drop zone.
After a poll was put out last night, followers of the MSC decided that Millwall needed a Quick left midfielder and a young premiership striker as the top 2 targets.
After narrowing the potential targets down here are some players that could fit the bill as well as some suggestions we ourselves have thrown in there.
Edward has featured 9 times for the Arsenal U23s where he has netted 4 times along with 2 assists. Still young at the age of 18 Millwall would be the ideal place for Edward to get experience under his belt and his pace which Millwall are lacking up top at the moment. This could mean that Edward is the final piece in the jigsaw. A young and promising striker who is eager to impress at senior level could a move to Millwall help his own progress and help Millwall push further up the league.
Elliot joined Blackburn last season and has impressed at his time there with his blistering pace and has netted 5 times so far this season and has attracted attention from other championship clubs already. Millwall's two current left midfielders AOB and Fergie are two great technically gifted players but AOB is naturally a striker and not left footed while Fergie isn't quick enough. Bennett offers the pace just like Jed on the right does and with two quick and skilful wingers the strikers will get even more service hopefully meaning they might just score!
Millwall fans will remember the name and the face of Ashley Fletcher after he scored the opening goal for Barnsley in their 3-1 win over Millwall in the play off final in 2016. Fletcher came through the ranks at Man United before joining West Ham, Struggling to make the cut there and spending time out on loan, Ashley was sold to Middleborough for £6.5 million. It is rumoured that the youngster is available on loan and Millwall are currently crying out for pace up front, could Ashley be that man.
Chris is another from the Arsenal academy but is currently out on loan to Benfica B where he has featured 8 times scoring 2 goals. It is rumoured that Millwall along with a few other clubs are interested in brining the talented young winger on loan but Millwall will have to fight off competition to do so.
There's no hiding the fact that Devante has been liked with Millwall on social media ever since the end of the summer transfer window. Cole has scored 10 goals this season in 26 league games but is an unproven at championship level, A risk but with our strikers not exactly setting the world alight a less of a risk would be going for a player who may be slightly cheaper.
Jack is a commanding center half that could give Jake Cooper and Shaun Hutchinson and real push for a starting place, out of favour at Nottingham Forest and with a new gaffer and backroom staff set to come in Jack could see himself loaned out. Millwall are in need of another center half after the unfortunate severe injury to Webster. Could Jack be the replacement.
The Northern Irish center half joined Brighton from Motherwell and has been ever present in Brighton's U23s. Neil Harris has told the media that he wants a center half and a young Ben Hall could be the man. He's young and will be able to make the step up to the first team scene for Millwall, giving Millwall a bit of cover at the center back position.
Ryan was constantly in the news in the summer of a move to Millwall, The deal never went through and Ryan remained at Southend. While his name hasn't been mentioned as much Ryan is still linked to Millwall this window. However the question remains whether he would fit into the side now and what position would that leave Ben Thompson in.
